Our 'quick trip' guests in Gabarus Bay have seen eagles, seals, whales, porpoises, sea ducks and the remains of the abandoned fishing village of Gull Cove.  These trips are a great way to 'get your feet wet' in kayaking and your exploration of coastal Cape Breton Island.  Ask us about local accommodations and other packages.

Half-day guided paddling trips in beautiful Gabarus Bay depart each day at 9 am or 1 pm, with tasty snacks and basic instruction.

Fortress of Louisbourg "Paddle Through Time"

Our guests paddle with us from the waterfront in the town of Louisbourg, transitioning through time past the first established lighthouse in Canada and on to the gates of the reconstructed 18th century French fortress. After our landing at the original harbour site we then have a guided walking tour of the National Historic Site's grounds and buildings and we indulge in lunch at the traditonal lower class restaurant of the Fortress.  Our day ends with a paddle along the rest of the harbour with stories of the sieges, naval battles and shipwrecks of the area.  This package includes admission to the Fortress and lunch at the working man's restaurant on the grounds.

1-Day Mira River Explorer

Full-day guided paddling trips may be arranged for groups interested in paddling the sheltered nooks of the Mira River, estuary home to many species birds from ducks to eagles, a lovely provinicial park and a pirate hideaway!  Contact us to discuss your group's needs and we will look after the rest!  We can also arrange a variety of packages with accommodations in the Mira area.
