Our guests paddle with us from the waterfront in the town of Louisbourg, transitioning through time past the first established lighthouse in Canada and on to the gates of the reconstructed 18th century French fortress. After our landing at the original harbour site we then have a guided walking tour of the National Historic Site’s grounds and buildings and we indulge in lunch at the traditional lower class restaurant of the Fortress.

Our day ends with a paddle along the rest of the harbour with stories of the sieges, naval battles and shipwrecks of the area.  This package includes admission to the Fortress and lunch at the working man’s restaurant on the grounds.

More information about the national treasure that is the Fortress of Louisbourg may be found at www.fortressoflouisbourg.ca and about the 300th anniversaryof its founding.
